About WCEF
The West Coast Employers’ Federation was established in 1956 under the Indian Trade Unions Act 1926. The main objective of the Federation is to promote and protect the interests of the employers engaged in industry or trade, which employs work force. The Federation has been closely associated with problems arising out of labour disputes, industrial relations climate etc. and has made concerted efforts through dialogues, discussions and consultations with concerned governmental agencies and employees with a view to create an atmosphere conducive for production and productivity and to ensure amicable industrial relations climate in this region.
The Federation also acts as an intermediary body between the government and the trade, commerce and industry. It keeps the members informed about various legislations, notifications and amendments. It also offers comments, suggestions on draft legislations, keeping in mind the interests of its members and industry as a whole. The West Coast Employers’ Federation is a member of the Employers’ Federation of India (EFI), Mumbai and the Employers’ Federation of Southern India (EFSI), Chennai.
